Bathroom remodels are one of those jobs where what you don't see matters just as much as what you do. The work happening inside the walls - the insulation, the moisture barriers, the right substrate choices - that's what separates a bathroom that holds up for decades from one that starts showing problems in just a few years.
Here's where we're at on this one. The insulation is in, the sheetrock is up, and we've got a vapor barrier locked in behind it all. That vapor barrier is a big deal in a bathroom. Moisture is constantly present in these spaces, and without proper protection, it works its way into the walls and causes mold, rot, and structural damage over time. We don't skip that step.
Next up is cement board and an FRP surround. Cement board is the right base for wet areas - it won't break down from moisture the way standard drywall would. And FRP (fiberglass reinforced panel) is a smart, durable wall finish for shower and tub surrounds. It's easy to clean, resistant to mold, and built to handle the daily exposure that a bathroom demands.
We build bathrooms from the inside out. Every layer serves a purpose, and we make sure each one is done right before moving on to the next. This space is coming together the right way, and we're looking forward to sharing what it looks like when it's finished.
